Travel Tip of the Week – Order Out of Chaos
Sometimes when you are traveling, it is hard to stay organized. Everything gets jumbled up in your suitcase or seemingly bottomless purse. I think I have a few tips that could at least make a little order out of chaos. Two things – a small, tension curtain rod and a hanging shoe bag, both of which can be stuffed into your suitcase.
You can minimize the amount of clothes you need by rinsing them in the sink and then hanging them to dry on the tension rod placed in the shower. Some hotels have retractable clothes lines but most don’t.
The shoe bag can be hung on the bathroom door and can contain makeup, jewelry, hair care items like your brush, curling iron, etc, tooth brush, maybe even shoes!! Really whatever you want.
This way you can have things handy at your reach with no more packing and unpacking stuff every morning and evening when you do your grooming and at the same time keep your room nice and tidy.
Let me know what some of your packing tips are.

I always have my small travel toiletries bag at the ready with all the miniatures of whatever I need topped up & ready to go – then I just pack it instantly for overnight and weekend stays – cuts down the thinking and packing time.

That goes even one step further in being organized. What a good tip. I would have to train myself to not check it everytime to be sure it is all in there. Is that compulsive??

That’s a great idea! I think I might give that a try when I leave for Honduras next week.
I don’t really have any packing tips. I travel as light as possible. I only bring what I need, which is essentially clothes, toiletries and important documents. I don’t even bring a comb with me! Lol

Good tips! I’m with Heather – I keep a toiletry bag packed with all my essentials at all times. I also have an old standby packing list in a plastic sleeve that I just keep at the ready. If I have a “special” trip or one that requires a different variety of items, I will add to that list but for the standard weekend away or general vacation my list covers it! And I know that I won’t have forgotten anything because this list has been built over the past 15 years!

Seems all you traveling gals have it down pat. Not even a comb, Monica! I am chuckling because my hair is naturally curly and I don’t comb mine either.
Just wash and wear. Of course, your hair is long so you can just put it in a pony tail. Come to think of it all of you have long hair. I will wait to hear about Honduras. Have a good trip!
So the consensus seems to be keep it packed and ready. Makes sense. I hope these tips – prepacking and bringing items along to keep them at your finger tip will help you. They all certainly save lots of tme.
