I would add to try to time road trips so you're staying out of traffic and not traveling in the heat of the day if possible. Those two things make a MAJOR difference in my gas mileage! So many of our road trips were horse related - which meant hustling from one place to another because we had a load of animals. There are so many places that we'd pass year to year that looked interesting and I'd always want to stop and check out. There is definitely something to be said about making trip as much about the journey as the destination! Great tips!
